Freedom, representative government, and the right of every citizen to have a voice have never been guaranteed. They have always depended on people willing to stand up, participate, and lead.

This month, we’re shining a spotlight on the Florida City elections—local races that directly shape daily life, from schools and housing to public safety and accountability. These elections are a powerful reminder that democracy begins locally. At the same time, we are closely awaiting Governor DeSantis’s decision on the election date for House District 113, a race that will give voters a critical opportunity to make their voices heard. Every election, no matter the size, is a chance to strengthen representative government.

As November begins, Miami-Dade enters an important election season. Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 4, 2025, several municipalities across the county will hold local elections, including the City of Miami, Miami Beach, Hialeah, Homestead and Surfside. Voters will select mayors, commissioners and consider proposed charter amendments. These local offices play a crucial role in shaping our neighborhoods, city services, and community priorities—making every vote truly matter.
