MISSION
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

The League of Women Voters is the most trusted not for profit organization in the United States. As such, League chapters like LWV of Miami-Dade County, are often called upon to convene community issue forums as well as host candidate debates.
The League is firmly nonpartisan and neither supports nor opposes candidates for office. At the same time, it is a political organization and advocates on select policy issues after careful consideration by its members. The League does not endorse candidates or political parties.

We are a nonpartisan organization made up of women and men of all ages and backgrounds which encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
Taking action
The League accomplishes its mission by registering voters, holding debates and public forums, advocating for positions to influence public policy, and providing resources to help inform voters. In Miami-Dade, we also provide members with networking and career development opportunities.

League members engage at the local, state and national levels in hands-on work to encourage informed and active participation in government. Membership in the League of Women Voters is open to all individuals who are interested in good government.
