Making Democracy Work
WHAT WE Do
Welcome to the League of Women Voters of Miami-Dade County! We are a nonpartisan organization made up of women and men of all ages and backgrounds which encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The League accomplishes its mission by registering voters, holding debates and public forums, advocating for positions to influence public policy, and providing resources to help inform voters. In Miami-Dade, we also provide members with networking and career development opportunities.

WOMEN TRAIL MEN IN ELECTED OFFICE
In the Florida State Legislature, women are very much in the minority. Of 40 total state senators, 12 are women. In the State House women hold 28 seats out of 120 total members.
