Tell our Commissioners to Hold the Line!

The Urban Development Boundary (UDB) line is a regional “line in the sand” used to prevent urban sprawl and preserve natural and agricultural lands lying west of the boundary. Perennially under attack by developers and most recently by Miami-Dade County Mayor, Carlos Gimenez who has persistently promoted the expansion of State Road 836 (aka Dolphin Expressway) beyond the UDB.

CONTACT THE COMMISSIONERS -- AND ATTEND THE JUNE 20 HEARING IF YOU POSSIBLY CAN!

A coalition of concerned residents has formed to oppose the idea on the grounds that it would be an unnecessary and counterproductive use of county resources. Extending the 836 is a BAD idea for quality of life in South Florida. It would harm important Everglades restoration projects, WORSEN traffic, promote sprawl and put our water supply, wetlands and agricultural lands at risk.

WE NEED A SMART PLAN, NOT EXPANSION

CONTACT: County Commissioners to let them know that extending the 836 and is a bad idea and that you want your commissioner to #HOLDTHELINE!

ATTEND: the Board of County Commissioners Meeting on Wednesdy, June 20, 9:30am, Stephen P. Clark Commission Chambers, 111 NW 1 St, Miami, FL 33128. This will be the most important public hearing! Ride the Metrorail to attend!
