State of Florida
The League of Women Voters of Florida is a grassroots organization that focuses on the issues that members statewide care the most about. Each year, membership is polled to see which issues are most important to them. Local leagues like Miami-Dade County submit priorities, and after tabulating submissions, the top five areas become priorities for the State Legislative Session.

The League of Women Voters of Miami-Dade County supports, and takes action, on current local, state and national policies and issues as stated in our positions. The 2016-17 Program & Priorities was adopted by the membership at the League's Annual Meeting on Saturday, June 25, 2016.
We also take positions and advocate on select policy issues after careful consideration by members. Members are encouraged to participate in the process of "study and action" in its entirety, from the adoption of a study, through the achievement of a consensus, to its ultimate conclusion with action. Here are the Miami-Dade League Positions.
